The movement laboratory

There was a young basketball star from Luxemburg who suffered a debilitating knee injury and thought she may never return to the game she loved. But thanks to several surgeries, extensive rehabilitation, and the relentless support of a team of biomechanics experts at the Luxembourg SportFabrik laboratory – she could get back on the court and step back on the international basketball scene.

Her name is Magaly Meynadier, one of the heroes of this short doc centered around another dream come true; creating one of the best and biggest biomechanics lab for professional athletes in the world, in one of the world’s smallest nations. This story shows how motion capture technology contributed to realising both dreams, and that for athletes motion capture tech can – literally – be a game changer.

  • Challenge

Qualisys wanted to showcase the power of motion capture technology to enhance performance and prevent injury for professional athletes. SportsFabrik was chosen for its exceptional and results-oriented approach, and the dedication of its team to put motion capture tech to the best possible use.

We wanted to tell a compelling story featuring Qualisys products, but with the athletes´ ambitions in focus. As with previous stories produced for Qualisys, we wanted the content to remain relevant for professionals as well as a wider audience

    Solution

A short doc video was produced and distributed through Qualisys' social media channels. The video has also proved a valuable asset as a sales tool.

As a complement to the mini-documentary, the project at SportFabrik in Luxemburg was also documented in a photography series for marketing purposes.

“My goal is of course to come back to baskeball. And SportFabrik is hopefully helping me to achieve this”
