Set in stone | SKF

SKF has cemented its legacy even more in Gamlestaden in Gothenburg with a massive stone sculpture that welcomes both colleagues and visitors to the new headquarters, Götaholm.

When the decision was made to move headquarters across the Säve river to the newly restored central warehouse, the project team began looking for the right artist to create a piece that would reflect SKF – its history and its future. A piece that would truly stand the test of time.

This is the story of a three-year-long process, two stone sculptors, two hundred tonnes of blue pearl granite and one vision for, “The Bearing”.

We hope this will be a place people come to visit and to look at a very beautiful piece of art.
— Former SKF CEO Alrik Danielson
